About Us
I would like to thank you for taking the time to go through our web site. We try to serve both our members and the public at large with it. However, a web site doesn't take the place of the fellowship that occurs on Sundays during Sunday School and Worship, during Bible Study and other days when we gather together in Jesus' name.
With that, I would like to personally invite you to check out Calvary Baptist Church for yourself. Our vision is to be a Bible-based congregation committed to bringing the light of Christ to the world (ALL ARE WELCOME). What does that mean?
First of all, we are Bible-based. The Bible is the inerrant Word of God Himself. It is as relevant today as it was when the books were written. It contains answers to the questions and problems of life. All of my sermons are based upon a Bible passage. Whether it is the New International Version, the King James Version, or another, we all should read and study God's Word and see what it means to our loives.
We are committed to bringing the light of Christ to the world. That is a reflection of Jesus' command to His disciples in the Great Commission, Matthew 28:18-20:
"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"
This is our duty as a church, through worship, Sunday school, Bible study and reaching out to the surrounding communty.
Finally, all are welcome in our sanctuary. No one is better than anyone else. We are all in need of God's grace and forgiveness. 1 John 1:8 says, "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." Paul said in Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
While we welcome everyone, we do not affirm any sinful lifestyle.
I would love to hear from you. If you have a question, or would just like to chat, please send me an e-mail at assocpastorcbc@sbcglobal.net.
